Glacier Bay National Park & Preserve
Type: Logo Redesign & Brochure
Date: October 2023
Tools Used: Adobe InDesign, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator
Glacier Bay is a beautiful national park and preserve located in Southeast Alaska. Filled with a rich Native American history and wildlife, the land was claimed as a National Monument as of 1965.
I was tasked to redesign the national park’s logo and create a brochure for tourists and visitors.
Process
The new logotype is more modern but still appeals to all age groups. I combined Glacier Bay’s lowercase initials in a fun, rounder font to create a friendly and fresh new look to the park’s branding. Using mainly dark and light cool blue colors like the park’s icy environment.
Protecting wildlife is a large part in Glacier Bay’s mission, so I encorporated a silhouette of a whale into the logotype. Humpback whales are the largest marine mammal in Glacier Bay’s reserve.
The brochure folds up into a smaller rectangle for traveler’s convenience (top).
